Your role is a combination of driving and mechanical skills to operate and maintain heavy machinery, performing tasks like operating heavy equipment, performing routine maintenance, and making repairs.
Heavy Equipment Operator Duties:
1.
Operate heavy machinery: This includes tasks like excavating, moving earth, grading, loading, and hauling materials.
2.
Inspect equipment: Ensuring equipment is in safe working condition before, during, and after use.
3.
Perform maintenance: This can include tasks like oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and minor repairs.
4.
Follow safety procedures: Adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating equipment and working on the job site.
5.
Coordinate with others: Work with other crew members to ensure the accurate and safe execution of tasks.
6.
Perform minor repairs, Like replacing worn parts, such as brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Duties:
Diagnose and repair: Identifying and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy equipment.
Preventative maintenance: Performing regular maintenance checks and servicing to prevent equipment breakdowns.
Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance performed and repairs made.
Advise on equipment needs: Recommending necessary maintenance and repair schedules.
May include: Dismantling faulty equipment parts and installing new or fixed parts.
