The Opportunity

Marketo is the premier customer engagement and nurturing platform, and we're passionately innovating to continue to drive customer growth! For this, we are looking for a strong technical leader to lead the Platform Services Engineering Team of Marketo division. If you are passionate about building and running high-performing engineering and DevOps teams to solve interesting and meaningful technical problems in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, and fun environment, we believe this is the right opportunity!

What you'll Do

Hire, manage, and retain strong engineering and DevOps teams that will develop and maintain high performing, scalable, and reliable services, and applications that delight our customers

Induce and drive engineering excellence throughout your org with an emphasis on architectural design, product quality, maintainability and operability, project execution, team culture, and productivity

Collaborate with product management, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to create a technical vision and roadmap

Lead your org to create project plans, design, develop, automate testing, CI/CD, and operate our services and applications

Tightly manage all engineering projects, and keep all partners well informed

Mentor, aspire, and challenge your engineers and managers

Build strong relationships, collaborate effectively, and influence global partners across the matrix org, at different levels, to deliver on business objectives

What you need to succeed

5+ years of hands-on development experience

8+ years of engineering management experience

BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field

Proven track record of building, managing and retaining engineering and DevOps teams with one or more layers of management

Experience in developing, deploying, and operating large scale, highly available, SaaS applications and services in private and public cloud

Excellent software design and problem-solving skills

Proficient in both server-side and client-side technologies

Strong leadership, people management, verbal and written communication skills

Positive work attitude, self-motivated, forward-thinking, and quick learner

Experience in building services using Java/Scala, MySQL, Kafka, Spark, Akka framework required

Experience in building mobile apps and SDKs strongly preferred

Expertise in PHP, MongoDB, Cosmos DB, Redis, Zookeeper, Solr, React, Node.js, JavaScript, and/or Docker preferred

Domain expertise in Marketing, CXM, CRM SaaS platforms or applications is a strong plus
