DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitate admission of new patients and explain hemodialysis treatment procedure thoroughly.
Performs intensive handling of treatment of patients.
Thorough assessment of the patients and management of possible complications during the entire treatment.
Ensure the complete monitoring of pre and post status of patients and proper recording.
Responsible in carrying out doctor’s order.
Obtain blood specimen of the patient for laboratory testing.
Educates patient by promoting the understanding and care of their disease.
Promotes positive work values and encourages cooperation among the dialysis staff by providing a pleasant work environment.
Manage the encoding of data to the dialysis machine required in the conduct of the dialysis treatment.
Responsible in processing of blood return upon completing the dialysis treatment of the patient.
Assisting volunteers and trainees during the course of the dialysis-training program.
Ensures the compliance of dialysis staff in the proper handling of equipment in the center.
Reports defects, breakdowns and problems of any equipment or supplies in the center to the nurse supervisor or concerned person.
Will assist the Dialysis Center Technician in the reprocessing and storage of the dialyzers.
Will assist in the preparations of HD machines prior to treatment;
Priming of bloodlines and dialyzer
Basic supplies needed in the conduct of dialysis treatment on a daily basis especially in the absence of the DCT.
Qualifications:
Graduate of BS Nursing and must be a registered Nurse
Must have a Certificate of training for hemodialysis
Certified Renal or Nephrology Nurse (RENAP) is an advantage
Must have updated BLS &ACLS & IVT training
Minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience as dialysis nurse
Prior experience providing nursing care to patients on acute dialysis
Self-directed and performs duties independently
Ability to problem-solve and apply critical thinking skills
Must have the proven ability to maintain confidentiality in the care of patients.
