The Database Design Analyst, Customer Data Platforms is a highly technical role and works closely with our customers and Marketing Technology Implementation Consultant to turn business requirements into technical solutions that help them achieve their marketing objectives, manage customer data in a secure and compliant manner, and personalize customer journeys with highly-targeted content.
This role requires technical expertise to build and optimize REST API calls to perform standard CRUD operations, write SQL-like queries to map events to user attributes and build audience segments, orchestrate data movements between multiple sources, create workflows and triggers, and troubleshoot technical issues with implementations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background working with CDPs including experience with building and testing API calls, ETL operations involving multiple data sources and platforms, building data schemas and managing filters and attributes, using authorization tokens, JavaScript libraries, and versioning and change control processes.
Responsibilities
? Build API calls and data queries: Write and test API calls to manage customer data in a complex enterprise environment, and write SQL-like queries to segment customers and build custom audience segments
? Perform ETL operations: Extract data from multiple sources, transform it to meet ingestion requirements, and load it into the target system
? Onboard new applications: Configure new properties, applications, and business units as they onboard to an enterprise CDP
? Create runbooks: Document processes for common customer tasks to enable standardization and efficiency
? Provide technical support: Troubleshoot issues in API calls, data queries, attribute tagging, and other common implementation issues
? Collaborate with Implementation Consultants: Work closely with our consulting specialists to understand business requirements and develop technical solutions to meet them
Qualifications
Required
? 2+ years experience working in complex customer data landscapes using enterprise CDPs such as Segment, Tealium, Lytics, Emarsys, Selligent Marketing Cloud, Evergage, Exponea, Arm Treasure Data, and Salesforce Customer 360
? 2+ years experience working with RESTful JSON APIs, database query languages such as SQL, complex data filters, JSON, and other common technical components related to CDPs
? 2+ years experience working with complementary marketing technologies and customer data stores such as Omniture, Google Analytics, Marketo, or other common applications in an enterprise marketing tech stack
? 1+ years experience working with code repositories and version control systems such as Github and Bitbucket
? Experience with common development tools such as Visual Studio Code, Postman, and CLI tools
? Exceptional interpersonal skills, including active listening and excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Highly proficient in written and spoken English
? Bachelor?s degree or equivalent education and/or experience in information technology, marketing, or data science
? Strong problem solving skills, initiative, and the ability to thrive under pressure
