Database Administrator - Linux

Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
Develop processes for optimizing database security.
Set and maintain database standards.
Manage database access.
Performance tuning of database systems.
Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
Create automation for repeating database tasks.
Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
Design and implement database in accordance to end user’s information requirements
Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
Experience working with Linux
Deep experience in database administration in a Linux / Unix environment
Experience in Oracle Enterprise version 12c.
Work effectively with System Administrators/Engineers, DBA’s, Programmers, Project Managers, Business Representatives, Vendors and/or Analysts to complete tasks in timely manner.
