The position will be based in Makati City, Philippines.
Job Summary
Cyber Defence Analysts are critical thinkers with enthusiasm, curiosity, and thirst for knowledge with the dedication to see patterns through the chaos of the cybersecurity landscape. Responsibilities:Identifying potential intrusions from seemingly benign sets of events, logs or alerts
Build new tools and techniques to automate human-intensive tasks into work that can be achieved in a fraction of the time
Collecting disparate data (e.g., system logs or network packet capture), constructing a timeline of events, and evaluating the disposition of a potential intrusion
Identifying subtle cues with network protocol analysis tools to recognize the meaning and implications of traffic across all seven layers of the Open Source Interconnection (OSI) network protocol stack
Tearing apart a piece of malware and formulate a working understanding of its attack vector and likely purpose
Identifying system misconfigurations and work with customers to correct them
Establishing and growing relationships with your team, sharing best practices, tools, and tippers
Putting yourself in the shoes of the adversary, look at the security posture of a network, its business objective, and assess where there is cause for concern.
Qualifications:Don’t have formal educational qualifications or professional certifications but have acquired knowledge through training, self-study, and experience.
Haven’t been in IT very long, but have solid problem-solving skills
Are not an expert in all areas but can answer questions such as:
How do you install and configure a Linux or Windows system?
What does normal DNS traffic look like?
How do you correctly architect a network perimeter DMZ?
What is wrong with this firewall/desktop/server configuration?
What’s the difference between Iaas, Paas, and SaaS
What’s the difference between Agile, DevOps and SRE?
How’s Microservices related to containers?
How can I achieve common tasks in popular scripting and programming languages
