Job Descriptions
The cashier is responsible for all cash and checks payments made to the hospital, including receipts made in person and mail receipts, and appropriately posting them to patient accounts receivable and non-patients accounts receivable. The cashier is also responsible for preparing the daily bank deposit and the security of patient valuables. Also, monthly, bills client accounts.
Receives payments from outpatients and inpatients
Prepares daily cash position report
Handles hospital petty cash
Handle and disburse all cash professional fees
Prepares withholding tax every 10th of the month
Handles all the hospital bank accountants
Handles and monitor all canteen receivables
Checks and prepares salary for Resident Doctors
Takes the role of the Biller in the absence of Billing Officer
Check and balance the Accounting Ledger
Do all the menial and trivial tasks my superior asks me to do
Handles the releasing of cash and checks disbursements to suppliers and other professionals
Job Qualifications
College Graduate
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Accurate typing skills and computer keyboard skills.
Ability to work in a highly stressful environment.
Ensures customer satisfaction
Accuracy and honesty of handling revenues and aspects of the revenue control system
Ability to communicate effectively with both employees and customer
Good math skills
Good analytical skills
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Must have a proven ability to act on and solve minor problems as they arise
