Position Summary We’re looking for our Controller, Finance & Accounting (Teekay Offshore Philippines)
The Controller, Finance & Accounting is accountable for overseeing the accounting and financial management activities related to supporting the global accounting departments with core activities including accounting services and accounts payable. The position is responsible for ensuring the accounting teams understand the business process and that appropriate questions are raised when performing routine accounting responsibilities. The position is responsible for ensuring that all accounting deliverables are prepared in a consistent, accurate and timely manner and that reconciling items are raised to the appropriate contact person for resolution. Accountable for developing their team in Manila according to the "accountability framework" and for ensuring solid deliverables through the respective team Leads.

Accounting and Accounting Services
Accountability for overseeing the teams handling accounting shared service functions – bank and account reconciliations, expense report processing, fixed asset management, receipt and payments, ship & operational accounting, intercompany accounting and settlement. Furthermore, this position is accountable for:
Approving certain key account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, ensuring the reconciliations are prepared to a standardized format
Overseeing the timely and accurate preparation of prepaid expense accounting including amortization and preparation of appropriate schedules
Overseeing fixed-asset accounting including both on-shore assets and vessels, including ensuring the appropriate usage of the fixed asset module
Ensuring expense reports are processed accurately and in a time manner
Reviewing and approving intercompany account reconciliations
Compiling, analyzing and reporting financial information to management and government agencies including statutory financial statements and various tax returns
Any other tasks, accountabilities and projects as management deems appropriate
Accounts Payable
Accountability for overseeing the global Accounts Payable Team in Manila who are responsible for processing operational, project, and overhead related expenditures including invoices for the local office. Furthermore this position is accountable for:
Oversees, plans and coordinates the functions and flow of work in the Accounts Payable team
Analyzes Accounts Payable operations and identifies areas for improvements
Develops and implements controls to increase accuracy and efficiency
Develop applicable analytical reports related to Accounts Payable for review by the Global Accounting Management team
Investigates and resolves and tax issues with respect to purchase orders and invoices including next level escalation to relevant parties in the procure-to-pay process to ensure that invoice approval and processing issues are addressed in a timely manner
Ensure that queries from vendors with respect to payment status and potential issues are addressed in a timely manner
Risk, Control and Compliance
Accountability for various Risk, Control and Compliance
Ensure that process documentation is created and when necessary updated, for identified critical processes
Prepare, updated and review SOX Narratives on a timely mannerRequirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
What we are looking for
First degree in accounting, business administration or finance and a professional accounting designation
Minimum of five years’ senior management level experience in a shared service setting of a multi-national company, including a minimum of one-year leading the accounts payable function and previous experience in a Big Four Accounting firm. Shipping experience is a plus.
High level of integrity, with good Leadership values & Workplace Ethics
A structured and analytical team player with good management and organizational skills
Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software preferably Oracle Fusion, with a minimum requirement for a top tier financial system such as Microsoft Dynamics AX or SAP/Hana
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
Familiarity with US GAAP and SOX requirements
Experience in BCP preparation and execution
