Our Story: Built for the humans of data, by the humans of data
At Atlan, we started as a data team ourselves tackling problems like national level healthcare and poverty alleviation with data science (TED talk;Case Studies )
The problem:That's how we learn't how tough it was to scale data teams. Data teams are the most interdisciplinary teams ever created: Analysts, Scientists, Engineers, Business; Diverse people with their own tooling preferences and skillsets and "DNA" that need to come together and collaborate effectively. Leading tocollaboration chaos.
We would be awoken with crisis calls every second day for the minutest of issues - from troubleshooting why number on a dashboard is incorrect to getting access to the right dataset! Atlan started as us building small tools to make our own data team more agile.
Over a couple of years, we made our team 6X more agileand went on to do amazing things like build India's National Data Platform used by its Prime Minister. (data for 500M citizens, built by an 8 member team, fastest project of its kind to go live — in 12 months instead of projected 3 years)

Your Mission at Atlan ??
Own key written content properties like our blog (Humans of Data ) and content we write on Towards Data Science and other publications
Working with internal and external writers to shape First Round quality indepth stories and resources
High-level structural editing for articles, ebooks, guides, and other resources
Line editing for clarity and grammatical errors for all content we publish publicly
Managing a team of freelance writers to help them plan, produce, and polish articles for our blog
What makes you a match for us? ??
You are a nurturer, caring for our writers' nascent content ideas and helping them blossom into beautiful, useful stories for humans of data everywhere
You are an artist, continuously refining our style rules while creating a unique voice for Atlan writing
You have an ability to write and communicate in a clean and clear fashion & create structure that makes content delightful
Comfort with data & technology: You will be writing and editing content for a deep tech, no bullshit audience. The ability to deep dive into the details is key.
Unassailable grasp on English grammar, conventions, and idioms
Previous experience as an editor (either at a media company or other company with a focus on original content) is a bonus
