**Position Summary**:
This position is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that the company secures and obtains all applicable permits and licenses to conduct its business and that the company complies with all filings and submissions of reports with the different government agencies and local government units having jurisdiction over the same.
It is also responsible for evaluating and monitoring the company's policies and procedures to ensure all employees are compliant; ensuring that the company's operations adhere to the laws and regulations within its industry.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Empowers and trains end-users on how to effectively prepare, file and secure permits, licenses, and reports.
Monitors submission of reports and other requirements by the local government units and national government agencies to maintain compliance.
Regularly updates the company's records on permits, licenses and reports (compliance documents) and maintains the pertinent system.
Conducts an internal audit to determine whether or not the Coal BU's policies and procedures are aligned with laws and regulations, as well as AP and AEV Policies.
Monitors operations to ensure that the company adheres to the laws regulating its industry.
Monitors compliance by all employees of the company's internal policies and procedures.
Prepares pertinent compliance documents and materials for meetings with the Board of Directors, Coal BU executives and other internal stakeholders.
Supports the Compliance Manager in cultivating relationships with key external stakeholders (e.g.
LGUs) ensuring business objectives are achieved.
Assists Compliance Manager in addressing day-to-day Compliance issues and escalates the same as needed.
Develops relationships with counterparts from CSUs and BUs ensuring transfer and adoption of "best practices".
Develops relationships with counterparts from Partners/JVs to ensure orderly coordination between the Legal & Compliance Teams.
Bachelor's degree in any relevant course
At least 2 years of related work experience
Finished at least all the regular courses in second-year law school, a plus
