Job Description
Magnify efforts to grow awareness of the Manulife brand through proactive external communications and media relations. Manage the company’s corporate social responsibility activities to strengthen Manulife’s role in the communities in which it operates. Ensure the effective communication of strategies, executive messages, key business initiatives, accomplishments and other similar matters across the organization.1. Maximize coverage on Manulife across media channels to further awareness of the Manulife brand and grow consideration of Manulife’s products & services

Develop and implement an external communications strategy for Manulife.

Identify opportunities to generate good will for Manulife via media by writing press and/or photo releases, and disseminating such to relevant media outlets through the PR agency.

Build relationships with key members of media.

Manage relationship with the PR agency.

Monitor Manulife, competitor and industry coverage in the media. Measure media values generated, together with sentiment about Manulife.

2. Manage the company’s internal communications
Develop internal communications strategies to maximize awareness of key business messages & initiatives, and optimize communication across the organization.

Oversee the development of internal communications as required by the business. These may include executive communications, product / business announcements, company event coverage, HR-related announcements and newsletters, among others.

3. Develop stakeholder communication materials
Serve as project manager in the development and production of the Annual Report to shareholders.

Develop the concept and obtain approvals for such

Partner with various contributing groups and individuals to secure content

Identify appropriate suppliers and vendors to support the development of the report (eg, creative agency, photographer, makeup artists) and its production (ie, printer)

4. Manage Manulife’s corporate social responsibility initiatives
Identify and partner with external organizations that support causes aligned with Manulife’s values and brand promise. Serve as Manulife’s relationship manager and main point of contact to these organizations.

Develop programs that will allow Manulife, its employees and its agents to contribute to the communities in which the company operates. Obtain support from internal stakeholders to maximize participation and success.

Develop success measures and reporting for corporate social responsibility initiatives that will enable evaluation of each partner at the end of the each engagement period.

5. Ensure the company’s standards and policies are adhered to across all communications
Partner with Regional Communications teams to ensure Manulife Philippines initiatives are aligned with Regional strategic plans and guidelines.

6. Manage allocated budget for PR, communications and CSR. Ensure spend falls within plan.
