Position Summary
The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences (ENS) is seeking a clinical faculty member to serve as the Department’s Undergraduate Exercise Science Director of Clinical Education. The position will include teaching within the department and providing oversight and management of internships and practicums to ensure the successful preparation of graduates of the Exercise Science program for future employment and community service.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in the department, coordinating student placements, supervising internships and practicums, evaluating clinical sites and training and supporting site supervisors, and other administrative duties related to student success and clinical experiences. Other duties include ensuring that policies and procedures related to the internship and practicum experiences are consistent with UB and the Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences policies, and ensuring the individualized clinical education plans for students with disabilities are consistent with the UB policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in exercise science or related field with teaching experience in higher education, experience in program administration, and experience in clinical research or practice in an exercise science related field. Candidates must demonstrate leadership, problem-solving ability, excellent organizational, management, and interpersonal skills as well as independence and initiative.
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree in exercise science or a related field. Three to five years of experience in each of the following: teaching in higher education, internship/practicum program administration, and experience or clinical practice in an Exercise Science related field. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential or willingness to obtain the certification in the first year of employment.
