**JOB SUMMARY**: Ensures the quality of nursing care in all departments.
Helps in policy making and carries full administrative responsibility in the entire nursing service.
Collates all documents for the licensing of the hospital.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
1.
Carries full administrative responsibility and authority for the entire Nursing Services of the Hospital.
a.
Assumes full responsibility for the development of nursing service policies.
b.
Represents the nursing personnel in management meetings and other professional meetings.
c. Organizes, directs, coordinates and evaluates activities of the Nursing Service Staff which allows for satisfaction and professional growth.
d. Attends seminars and workshops as the need arises.
2.
Participates in formulating hospital policies in developing and evaluating programs and services.
3.
Provides means and methods by which nursing personnel can interpret the goals and policies of hospital and nursing service to the patient and to the public.
1.1 Conducts daily ward rounds to gain an insight to the problems and needs as presented by the patient and the family, the nurse and other health disciplines.

Approves schedules of; duties/off duties prepared by the unit Managers.
5.
Directs planning and implementing of staff development programs for different categories of nursing personnel.
a.
Promotes individual growth and development by maintaining a program of staff education.
b. Conducts monthly meeting of nursing personnel.

Define job description for each category of the nursing personnel
7.
Assists HRD in the recruitment of personnel for the Nursing Department and recommends personnel for appointment, promotion or dismissal.
a. Conducts written exam and interviews and screens all applicants for the Nursing Service and evaluates their qualifications and experience.
b.
Observes and evaluates the performance of personnel, as well as analyze and evaluate the nursing service whether they are meeting the desired standards.
c. Formulates and recommends policies to HRD for the improvement of patient care, particularly in planning of personnel policies and interpret to the Administrator the needs and interest of the nursing personnel.
8.
Coordinates all activities of the nursing service department with other services/department.
9.
Participates in hospital's outreach program.
10.
Do validation of incentives (IV insertion, Foley Catheter Insertion and NasoGastric Tube Insertion) of staff nurses every 15days.
11.
Interacts and resolves all types of issue arising in the unit involving physicians, personnel, patients and patient's relatives
12.
May do bedside care if the need arises.
13.
Subject to "on call" as the need arises.
14.
Recommends personnel for appointment of promotion and dismissal and staffing needs of the services.
15.
Prepares nursing service budget to provide adequate supplies, equipment, physical facilities, seminars and trainings and submit to Medical Director.
16.
Collate documents for Licensure and Accreditation with regards to Nursing.
17.
Prepares and submit sentinel events, FDA's drugs and drug-drug interaction and reports to Administrative Officer.
18.
Serves as point person for DOH and Philhealth licensing and accreditation.
19. Review and Analyze all inventory reports and recommendations such as:
a.
Inventory of instruments and supplies
b.
Inventory of medications.
20.
Directs responsibility of Heads for monitoring and calibration of machines and coordinates with the engineering and maintenance department.
21.
Monitors and follow up all reports of repairs and maintenance of instruments, facilities and equipment.
22.
Recommends, improves and upgrade policies with regards to nursing and improvement of the institution.
23.
Performs other duties as required by the Medical Director and the Hospital Administrator.
**Salary**: Php25,000.00 - Php30,000.00 per month
