Position Overview

The Charge Entry Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and efficient entry of patient charges into our billing system. This position is essential for optimizing reimbursement and maintaining compliance with payer requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Accurately input patient charges into the billing system in a timely manner. Review provider documentation for completeness and compliance with coding guidelines. Ensure proper application of CPT, ICD-10, and modifier codes, particularly in OBGYN cases. Collaborate with providers and office staff to resolve discrepancies and clarify charge details. Monitor charge entry workflows to ensure timely submission for claims processing. Assist in identifying and resolving issues related to coding and billing errors. Stay updated on payer rules and regulations to maintain compliance. Qualifications: Required: Experience in charge entry, preferably in a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Preferred: Experience with OBGYN coding and billing. Proficiency in eClinicalWorks (eCW) or similar EHR systems.Familiarity with revenue cycle management workflows.
