Arilyn
Arilyn is a continually growing startup/scaleup, developing augmented reality services and technologies. Our mission is to fill the world with engaging AR experiences and provide the technologies and tools needed for global brands and creative professionals.
Arilyn has offices in Helsinki and New York. This is a permanent and full-time position based in our Helsinki HQ.
Team
We have a small team consisting of 5 highly skilled developers building the supporting technology for our SaaS platform, and bespoke AR campaigns for our clients.
We have a very low workplace hierarchy. Our developers are trusted to individually implement suitable solutions with the knowledge they possess.
Our team works mainly in our Helsinki HQ, but it's entirely possible to work remotely and during odd hours when you need to focus.
Tasks
You will be working on Arilyn's back-end systems, designed to support all of our in-house and client applications. The main task includes development, maintenance and testing of the Arilyn API, providing our AR content, user-management and subscription information. Also, our client-facing Dashboard that includes analytics information for customers, as well as management features, purchase options, and the like.
You will be part of a two-person team, responsible for both maintaining and bringing improvements to the Arilyn platform.
Some time will also be spent implementing basic UI for client-facing features. We generally use server-generated pages, with JavaScript used only for enhancement.

You should have the desire to learn new things and be open-minded to new approaches to solving existing problems.

You can work both independently and as part of a team.
You have proficient written and spoken English skills. Finnish is not a requirement, but some knowledge may prove helpful.
This is a senior position. You are someone with significant experience in developing and maintaining production-ready APIs.
Things you should have good knowledge of:
Python
SQL (more specifically, Postgres)
Server management and deployment
Common software-testing practices
Cloud services (Docker, AWS, etc.)
Things that would be a bonus:
Experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
Enough JavaScript knowledge to implement basic UI enhancements on top of our server-generated pages.
Experience specifically with AWS Lambda (and deploying Python to it via Zappa).
