Job Description:
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of products that are integral to the functionality of client's Consumer and Payment Applications. These include Web Applications, Web Services and Mobile Applications that are required for messaging, deposit, and telecom systems as well as integrations with applications across the client product portfolio. This role will also support organizational productivity, innovation, quality, and enhanced customer experience. The Automation Engineer position will evaluate and test software programs by executing automated test scripts (and manual) to verify programs function according to specifications.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Designs, develops and executes both automated and manual test scripts from the ground-up. Executes both automated and manual test scripts from the ground-up, that verify software programs function as specified in requirements and supporting documentation. Review code and write unit tests as needed. Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, screens, and content in company bug tracking software. Creates software components to drive automated testing scenarios in ways that are efficient in execution, and expandable in structure using client’s Selenium (Java) based automation framework. Creates output/reports that will effectively and accurately document all automated testing results. Manages the continuous development of the QA Team’s standard practices and procedures. Proactively responds to inquiries from users and technical support regarding functions and operations of software programs. Meet or exceed individual objectives, delivery deadlines, and product quality expectations. Utilize tools to test products and services that implement SOAP and REST XML formats. Using TestRail, create test plans and test cases from requirement documentation. Track defects and issues using JIRA; Keep product and test documentation updated in Confluence. Utilize Microsoft SQL to effectively verify the results of testing. Use effective communication flow among internal team members. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent from a four-year college and 3-5 years related experience and/or training; 7 years of demonstrated experience in lieu of formal education. Experience in Software development using Object-Oriented languages like Java, Python, JavaScript or Ruby. Experienced preferred in Jira, TestRail and Selenium or equivalent test management and automation tools. Possesses a solid understanding of development and quality assurance testing methodologies including functional and regression, implementing accuracy and thoroughness in all work product. Demonstrated experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment. Ability to work successfully in a team environment as well as working independently and deliver project deliverables on time. Ability to work under stress and carry forward a project from beginning to end. Ability to work under tight deadlines which may support off-hours testing, deployment, and maintenance as needed. Highly motivated and willing to troubleshoot as well as test software applications. Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems and identify best practices. Experience with test automation tools, technologies and test script development practices is preferred Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, support teams, clients, customers, and the public.
