PhilippinesUnder the direct supervision of the Head, PCTP and the overall supervision of the Director, DCP theAssociate Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
Liaise with organizations that work in the areas of community development and environment.

Manage field staff in charge of community development, social and economic impact assessment,
implementation of the agreed fair labour agenda.
Prepare a scheme of work so that the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) system can be properly
implemented both at the operational and structural level of the project. This scheme of work willalso consistently focus on gender mainstreaming’s issues by including disaggregated data ongender for instance.
Plan and manage the training sessions aimed at local staff members when relevant.Define recruitment needed to equip the project with relevant field staff for the implementation of the
intervention and assessment schemes.Provide inputs to field managers who have to coordinate the activities of field staff involved in the
areas of community involvement, and the environment.
Provide inputs and guidance to define and implement a clear impact assessment system and
developing practical implementation modalities based on result-based management.Participate in the development of a web-based platform to communicate the results of the
framework’s activities.Deliver capacity building on issues of social responsibility and impact assessment.Participate in meetings, seminars and fora where issues of social responsibility and impact
assessment are discussed and developed.Draft project proposals design, including budget planning and log frame.
• Perform other related duties as required.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
EDUCATION: First level university degree in management, social management, or closely relatedsubjects.
Note: Candidates who have completed an advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in management,social management, or closely related subjects may be considered with two years of relevantprofessional work experience.WORK EXPERIENCE: A minimum of four years of relevant professional work experience in issuesrelated to ethical trade, with particular reference to fair labour practices and impact assessment.Experience in working in projects aimed at producing consumer goods in Africa and in other regions ofthe developing world. Experience in working with developing countries. Previous experience oncorporate social responsibility desirable.LANGUAGES: Advanced knowledge of English required. A working knowledge of French desirable.Knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Provision of strategic inputs regarding planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring and reporting
to implement activities in correlation with social impact assessment and fair labour. Ability tomanage the team allocated to the SIA system and fair labour across the different country chaptersof the programme.
Knowledge of social impact assessment techniques and fair labour standards (ILO).Ability to undertake research activities on business modelling including efficient analysis on the use
of project funding and trade-related matters.Ability to ensure the effective application of the Results-Based Management (RBM) tools,
establishment of management targets and monitoring and achievement of results, across all PCTprogramme areas, in order to facilitate adjustments to project design and implementationapproaches where necessary.
Knowledge of project design, including budget planning and log frame.Knowledge of the development of training schemes.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

TERMS OF SERVICE
Appointments with ITC are service-limited to this organization. The conditions of service are governedby the United Nations Staff Rules and Regulations. This is a fixed term appointment.
INDICATIVE ANNUAL SALARY AT THE P-2 LEVEL
Annual Salary (net of tax)Starting from 47,322US$, with annual increments subject to performance.
Post AdjustmentIn addition to the above annual salary a monthly post adjustment is paid. The rate as at August 2019is 68.7% of the monthly salary.
