Broward College invites applicants for a full time continuing contract teaching position in Information Technology.
Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse 21st century learners.
This position is a 163-day contract.
Candidates should demonstrate (1) a mastery of their specific discipline; (2) a deep commitment to the college mission of fostering student success, achievement and persistence; (3) technology competencies; (4) teaching/counseling skills and strategies that facilitate 21st century literacies and technologies; (5) and the use of resources that prepare students for productive lives.
Minimum Education:
Master’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related discipline or Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related discipline. Doctorate degree preferred.
Minimum Experience/Training:
Prior teaching experience with online courses strongly preferred.
Industry experience and CompTIA certifications strongly preferred. Broward College places special importance on helping under – prepared students achieve academic success.
The successful candidate must have a high level of computer literacy and a commitment to teaching.
The successful candidate must be willing and able to teach in both the traditional face-to-face and blended (hybrid) format. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain active professional development activities and service to the Department and College. Committee work is expected.
All schedules require office hours and some may require evening and/or weekend hours.
