Senior Accountant

Job Description:
Review owner contracts and identify contractual terms for accounting purposes with the project team. Analyze purchase orders and purchase order change orders for correct calculations, including sales tax. Review subcontractor pay application information, including percent of completion, retainage percent or amount and verify that it contains a related waiver and release documents. Maintain accurate monthly reporting, including job cost reports, Project Status Report, and general condition forecasting. Monitor budget numbers. Payment of general payables. Assist in maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clients Analyze tax amounts charged on miscellaneous invoices and purchase orders received nationwide to ensure the correct rate will be paid and/or accrued. Process large volumes of miscellaneous invoices, purchase orders and subcontractor pay applications into accounting software. Keep accurate logs of owner direct purchases and sales tax savings. Prepare and process owner billings on a schedule of values, provide billing backup detail and balance billings against job cost when applicable. Review and process expense reimbursements for employees. Maintain accurate accounting file system. Additional miscellaneous duties to support project accounting needs may be assigned Minimum Qualifications:
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) At least 5 years Construction Accounting experience strongly preferred Strong experience on tax calculation and accruals Excellent customer service skills Strong communication skills both oral and written Excellent problem-solving skills; Detail oriented Proficiency in Microsoft Application especially Excel Ability to work in a team environment Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
