Perform a variety of engineering work in planning and developing products, tools, fixtures, equipment and industrial processes.

Product & Process Design and Testing:
· Understand customer needs and design new products and processes to serve those needs
· Define and specify product architecture and design approaches
· Propose and develop new design automation tools and systems
· Define test requirements and specify test plans
· Manage agency certification activities for new products (UL, CE, CSA, VDE, etc.)
· Conduct analysis and evaluation of competitive products and services
· Develop or revise appropriate safety policies and procedures based on new product/process designs

Quality Assurance:
· Perform technical peer review of new designs and processes
· Approve analyses of failed or returned materials and corrective action plans and procedures
· Define disposition criteria for non-conforming products, materials, and components
· Qualify new sources of products, materials, and components
· Develop and improve relationships with suppliers and subcontractors

Technical Support:
· Train inside and outside sales personnel on product applications

Coaching / Mentoring:
· Actively develop other employees through coaching and feedback, job assignments and rotation, and on-the-job training
· Coach teams on application of the scientific method, systems thinking, creative problem solving and the development of trade-off curves

Additional Information Regarding Position:

· Flexibility (time & availability) is very important because the ideal candidates will be responsible for some strategic global accounts and need to support global time zone (especially US time)
· Implementing and being accountable for the operating system which includes Proposal development, project management, quality & reliability factors, cost delivery, and the customer scorecard (Mainly QDC of assigned accounts)
· Leading/Supporting Strategic Account Planning (SAP) activity
· Representing the customer portfolio in Watlow’s Technology Roadmap discussions, both in terms of Environment and Voice of the Customer
· Orchestrating internal global coverage for customers including coordination of all other roles related to the strategic account plan

Developing key relations within the customer organization
· Ensuring company strategies continue to intersect to maximize sustainable growth
o Understanding account business cycles and the accounts growth needs to provide forecasting data for sales operating financial planning (SOFP) processes
o Developing, leading, and participating in periodic business reviews for strategic account to ensure periodic customer business reviews are productive
o Ensuring the account team is proactively reviewing, evaluating, and responding to customer complaints, application problems as well as technical support
o Analyzing data for trends-sales, existing customer markets, competitors, distribution channels and recommending focus areas for development activities and operational improvements
o Supporting the Plan of Growth across the enterprise for specific accounts
o Owning/Supporting all aspects of account strategy development via the strategic account plan
o Participating in Enterprise and Business Unit Strategic Planning Processes
o Helping to establish, set and achieve key performance indicators for these strategic accounts including growth and profitability
Skills, Abilities and Mastery (Responsibility Matrix): Product & Process Development:
· Identify applicable agency and market needs and define appropriate design specifications
· Support market research
· Perform cost analysis of designs
· Lead the application of lean product development methods and tools in the completion of projects
· Lead the creation of new knowledge and the conversion of new learning into explicit knowledge for others to use

Education, Experience and Certification Requirements:

· Advanced degree in field of specialization or Bachelor’s degree and related experience, or equivalent experience (5-8 years)
